Almost Sugar Free, Buttery Graham Cracker Crust Recipe, With No Added Sugar
Behind the Recipe
Finally, we have a buttery graham cracker crust that is not full of carbs and sugar! Even though, it tastes like your grandma’s good old fashioned crust. I cannot tell you how long I have been trying to figure this one out. Using different kinds of flours and even grinding nuts to make a nut crust. If I remember correctly, it was walnuts or maybe pecans. Granted, this graham cracker crust requires that I make my own cashew flour graham cracker recipe ahead of time. But when you are craving that just right dessert, it cannot be beat. It is so good! Also, the graham cracker recipe is a quick make.
Another great thing about this crust is that it is almost sugar free. It will bring utter joy to your taste buds and always leave you wanting another bite. You might want to double the recipe. Possibly try freezing it. I haven’t tried that yet, so let me know if it works.
Recipe Tweaks
There is not a lot to tweak with this recipe. The absolute must here, is simply that you get the right amount of butter. If you don’t add enough, the crust will not hold together. If you add too much butter, the crust will be tough and not want to cut into pieces when you cut your newly made dessert recipe. I usually use three tablespoons of real butter. I would also add that I have tried making this crust with almond flour. Let’s just say that I am not a fan. I still have not found a recipe that I like that is made with almond flour.
One tweak you might enjoy is to add a pinch or two of cinnamon. I have not tried this yet, but I definitely plan to. My thought process is that it would add that extra layer of flavor in the background, just to enhance.
